Irene, Founder/teacher

I have been teaching Early Years in nurseries in Manila, Jakarta, Beijing and London for over 10 years. Through Cheeky Kitchen, I combine my passion for food and teaching young children life skills.

My family loves eating food from different cuisines and enjoys cooking. We love simple, easy to make food where we can all join in making them. I have learnt from talented chefs and bakers at the Maya Kitchen School (Philippines), The Hutong (Beijing), Konditor & Cook (London), Korean Kiejo Sarsfield (London), The Avenue Cookery School (London), The Cookery School (London) and Ma Baker (London).

I have a DBS check, First Aid certificate and Food Safety and Hygiene certificate. Cheeky Kitchen has Public Liability Insurance and is registered with Wandsworth Council.

Raxa, teacher

Hi I’m Raxa. I have been teaching young children for over 25 years including running a school based children’s cookery club. I am a vegetarian and a passionate home cook. I am originally from India and that’s where my cooking journey began. I grew up with home cooked food and have raised my now grown children the same way. My husband and I love to cook at home and I would like to share my passion for good, healthy food with the children. I have a DBS check and First Aid certificate.

PARENT REVIEWS

The sessions are fun and educational. Children learn about ingredients, utensils, cooking time while singing little songs, reading stories when their creations are in the oven. All the stuff I wish I had the patience to do with them at home .

My daughters loved it - as did I as find cooking at home with young children very chaotic! I think my daughter even declared a love of particular vegetables afterwards! Would highly recommend.
— Rachel, mum
My two girls joined a class and loved it! One said ‘It was the good-est cooking class ever’ and we do lots of cooking at home! The teachers were kind, well organised and knowledgeable. Classes are small and reasonably priced. There’s a side little room with tea/coffee and some chairs where moms can sit while the kids are cooking. We’ll surely be back for more classes!

My son loved his sessions at Cheeky Kitchen. Kind and knowledgeable teachers, great location and he tried food that he usually won’t do. Thank you so much!
— Catherine, mum
My kids should be writing this review so they can share how much they enjoyed the cookery session! What a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about new things (e.g. Taste new food they haven’t tasted before) and to have fun at the same time... plus they get to enjoy / eat their own creations afterwards - a great reward for the work & effort they’ve put in! Also, Teacher Irene is engaging and enthusiastic and her kitchen is highly interactive and kid-friendly, complete with mini aprons, colourful cookery tools, and storybooks in line with the lesson for the day. A big thank you to Cheeky kitchen from my little chefs.

Loved being able to watch the children prepare and cook food. It is a lovely, relaxed and supportive environment.
